Day Two

The team went to Svay Pak for church on Sunday morning. We had a warm welcome from the congregation. Our translator did an amazing job translating the entire service for us. During the service, the Pastor gave an energetic sermon on perseverance in our faith. He spoke on how our faith in God should not waiver in the highs and lows of life and that we must continue to seek the Lord. You do not save yourself by doing good deeds but the grace of God has saved those that take Jesus as their savior. We introduced ourselves to the congregation; sharing our names and expressing our thanks to them. They all pronounced our names and clapped for us. The smiles in the crowd were unforgettable, as they welcomed us to their place of worship. After church, we went back to the hotel and prepped for the next day. We practiced our skits, crafts, songs and games. We are very eager to meet the kids, staff and community of Svay Pak. We explored around our hotel too! Daniel, Ben, and Sam went out and walked along the streets looking for candy/snacks. On their way back to the hotel they saw people had the roads blocked off and were playing futsol (street soccer). After watching for a few minutes debating on whether or not they wanted to join. they finally asked to play. For the next 15-20 minutes the three played futsol with a small weaved ball with the locals. They also met a guy from Istanbul who joined mid game as well. At the end Daniel and Ben's team won and Sam's team lost and had to do 10 jumping jacks which were pretty heavily enforced.

We are all still adjusting to the time change! We are ready to sleep by 8!
